SAINT MARY’S HOSPITAL SELECTS CONNEXIENT DIGITAL WAYFINDING AND PATIENT ENGAGEMENT SOLUTION
NEW YORK ( March 19, 2013) -- Mark Green, CEO of Connexient announced today that Saint Mary’s Hospital, based in Waterbury, CT, will be the company’s first beta partner in Connecticut to employ MediNavTM, an innovative wayfinding and patient engagement application. MediNavTM is a native smartphone and smartpad application ideal for navigating medical facilities. The mapping, wayfinding, and patient engagement features provide patients and visitors with compelling indoor maps, location-based content and step-by-step directions. MediNavTM will initially be offered on iPhone, iPad and Android devices, as well as unique in-hospital kiosk solutions for arriving visitors and patients.
“Our goal is to enhance every aspect of our patients’ and visitors’ experiences. Hospitals are typically very complex structures to navigate, so offering a tool to simplify the process will be a great resource,” said Michael Novak, Vice President of Operations and Ancillary Services for Saint Mary’s. “Connexient provides an intuitive mobile interface for indoor maps, directions, and relevant hospital content. We are excited to be the first hospital in Connecticut to launch such a patient-centered mobile wayfinding solution,” stated Novak.
Mark Green, Connexient CEO and Co-Founder, commented: “We’re excited to have Saint Mary’s as our first beta partner because we share a vision for how healthcare systems will communicate with patients and visitors in the future. “
Additionally, MediNavTM offers indoor positioning technology to deliver real-time, turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation and other location-based services. It also incorporates staff directories with click-to-call appointment requests, health information, patient surveys, hospital news and announcements.
